The Night Before Christmas

It's the night before Christmas. I'm sitting at a friend's house, we are going to watch movies. We are both Indian. Our parents are not really celebrating Christmas, and the rest of our friends are busy with their families.
Christmas is the biggest holiday in the world. Even though I feel mostly American, I only half identify with this holiday. The part of me that is Indian ate Thai food today, of course, I ate Asian food. I'm not going to make a ham or whatever people eat on Christmas. But that part of me that feels American wants to mark this occasion somehow.
Even though it is not in my religion, it is in my culture, to make this holiday special.
